VICE-PRESIDENT of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Nan Ni Ni Aye, who is currently in Nying­chi (Linzhi) in the Xizang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of Chi­na to attend the Fifth Chi­na-Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation in China’s Xi­zang (Tibet) Autonomous Region, met a delegation led by Mr Wang Junzheng, Party Secretary of the Xi­zang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Commu­nist Party of China, at the Nyingchi Rui Crown Hotel yesterday evening.

 

Both sides held cordial and frank discussions on further promoting coopera­tion between Myanmar and the Xizang Autonomous Re­gion in the areas of culture, trade, renewable energy, and investment; enhancing the tourism sector through exchange visits focused on Buddhist literature and the preservation of historical heritage; sharing tech­nology in the agricultural and livestock sectors; and promoting cooperation in traditional medicine and the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) sectors.

 

The meeting was also attended by deputy minis­ters U Naing Min Kyaw and Dr Thaung Naing Oo, along with other officials. Rele­vant officials also accom­panied the party secretary.

 

In the evening, Vice- President Nan Ni Ni Aye, together with heads of state and delegates from other participating countries, at­tended the forum welcom­ing dinner. — MNA/TH
