THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development conduct­ed a field inspection yesterday to review the progress of house­hold income-generat­ing activities financed through the revolving fund of the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project in Winekaung Village, Monghsat Township.

 

Monghsat District Department of Rural Development Head U Sai Aung Myo Htet, Township DRD Head U Sai Soe Htay and project staff visited the village to inspect the progress of systematic agricultural, livestock breeding and trading activities. They also met members of the village Mya Sein Yaung Village Project Management Committee to examine whether the monthly financial records had been properly complet­ed and urged commit­tee members to expand household income-gen­erating activities while ensuring systematic management of the re­volving fund to prevent any loss or misuse.

 

At present, a total of K28.1 million in re­volving funds from the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project has been dis­bursed at concessional interest rates to 21 pro­ject members in Wine Kaung Village, includ­ing K7.6 million to six members engaged in agriculture, K9 mil­lion to seven livestock breeders and K11.5 million to eight trad­ers, all of whom are successfully operating their household liveli­hood businesses with support from the pro­ject funds. — Cho Than Nyunt (Rural)
