WITH a view to building self-confidence and becoming adventure lovers with help-ing spirits, the first training course for Cub Scouting was held by the Myanmar Scout Association in cooperation with scout trainers from Singapore and Indonesia at the Brainworks TOTAL Inter-national School in Taunggyi, Shan State yesterday.
The training course for Cub Scouting was led by Mr. Lim Wei Yung, Chairman of Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee from Singapore-and one trainer each from Sin-gapore and Indonesia togeth-er with Myanmar Cub Scout trainer Daw Thit Thit Oo, Youth Programme Coordina-tor U Phyo Thura Win, Inter-national Affairs Coordinator U Kaung Myat Htoo and oth-er senior trainers will coach promises, pledges, oaths and mottos of the scouts, basic techniques of craftsmanship, colour choosing for the chil-dren, recycling plastic bottles, scouting knowledge and first aid for scouts. The training is being held for a period of three days, attended by a total of 69 children and ten trainers. In addition, a similar training course for Cub Scout was launched with the help of trainers from Thailand at the Brainsworks TOTAL In-ternational School in Yangon in the first week of February. There are 52 males trainees, 22 female trainees together with 10 trainers in the pro-gramme. —Myanmar Scout Association
