Slight earthquake strikes Loilem Twsp

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were available following a slight earthquake which was recorded this afternoon, according to a source from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).


An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar jolted about 13 miles south-southeast of Loilem, Shan State. It was recorded at 7:10 a.m. today at a latitude of 20.74°N, and longitude of 97.61°E, with a depth of 10 kilometers and about 15 miles southwest of the Namsang seismological observatory, the DMH announced.
