Under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Myan­mar Basketball Federation, the final event and awarding ceremony of the 2023-2024 In­ter-State/Region Basketball Championship (Men’s and Women’s events of 5 on 5) was held at the Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium C yesterday. The State Administration Council members joined the event.

The Sagaing Region team beat the Magway Re­gion team in the women’s 5 on 5 Basketball Championship final event, while the Man­dalay Region team won over the Shan State team in the men’s event.

Next, an awarding cere­mony was held, and the State Administration Council mem­bers presented awards to the winning teams plus talented players.

The basketball competi­tion was held from 26 Janu­ary to 1 February at the Wun­na Theikdhi Gymnasium C in Nay Pyi Taw. Three hundred and sixty-nine athletes from 12 male and 11 female teams participated in the competi­tion. — MNA/KZL
