The eradication of poppy plantations has been conducted since the end of February this year in Kampaiti Town, Waimaw Township of Kachin State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
Myanmar security force led by Lieutenant Colonel Hla Moe, members of Myanmar Police Force, security force from Kampaiti Border Guard Force (1003) led by Captain Naw Ka Raung, members of local militia units, the town Administrator U Tun Tun Kyaw, departmental officials and volunteers annihilated 4 acres of 1.5 inches high blooming poppy fields located in Babon Village and 5 acres of 1.5 inches high blooming poppy plantations about one mile north of Babon Village, Kampaiti Town.
Further investigations are underway by local authority in the town, according to MPF.—Phyu Sin
