The township Information and Public Relations Department held an informative talk, storytelling competition and painting contest for schoolchildren at the children’s reading room of the department in the town of Thandaungyi, Kayin state this morning.

The events aim to help schoolchildren improve physical and intellectual abilities, to raise awareness on the deadly coronavirus among them and to encourage them to use their time beneficially in summer holidays.

First, the township IPRD head gave a talk about coronavirus disease and ways to prevent the infection of the virus such as washing hands carefully, good personal hygiene.

Then, the schoolchildren participated in the competitions. Ten schoolchildren competed in storytelling competition, 12 in sports competitions and 25 in painting competition. Officials presented awards to those who won the respective competitions.—Naw Law Mu(IPRD)
