THE Sitagu International Buddhist Academy (SIBA) has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Dashi Choinkhorlin Buddhist University (DCBU) of the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian Federation.
DCBU Rector Dymbryl Gurobazarovich Dashibaldanov and Sayadaw Dr Ashin Nyanissara, the founder and Chancellor of the SIBA, signed the agreement.
The primary objectives of the agreement are to foster international cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture, to implement joint projects promoting mental, moral, and creative development, and to exchange resources and experiences.
In the cooperation framework, the appointment of a contact person, information exchange, media publication, holding meetings and discussions, participating in the consultation teams, and conducting cooperation development activities are included.
At the invitation of the Governor of the Republic of Kalmykia, the 89-year-old Most Venerable Sayadaw Dr Ashin Nyanissara visited Russia and delivered a speech at the Third International Buddhist Forum on 28 September, lecturing on the four Brahmavihari. — Htun Htun/ZN
