THE Sitagu International Bud­dhist Academy (SIBA) has an­nounced the signing of a cooper­ation agreement with the Dashi Choinkhorlin Buddhist University (DCBU) of the Republic of Bury­atia of the Russian Federation.

 

DCBU Rector Dymbryl Gurobazarovich Dashibaldanov and Sayadaw Dr Ashin Nyanis­sara, the founder and Chancellor of the SIBA, signed the agree­ment.

 

The primary objectives of the agreement are to foster interna­tional cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture, to implement joint projects promot­ing mental, moral, and creative development, and to exchange resources and experiences.

 

In the cooperation frame­work, the appointment of a contact person, information exchange, media publication, holding meet­ings and discussions, participat­ing in the consultation teams, and conducting cooperation develop­ment activities are included.

 

At the invitation of the Gover­nor of the Republic of Kalmykia, the 89-year-old Most Venerable Sayadaw Dr Ashin Nyanissara visited Russia and delivered a speech at the Third International Buddhist Forum on 28 September, lecturing on the four Brahmaviha­ri. — Htun Htun/ZN
