An event to provide cash assistance to people whose homes became relocated due to riverbank erosion was held at the meeting room of B.E.H.S. in Shwelong Village in Wakema Township, Myaungmya District of Ayeyawaddy Region this afternoon.

On the occasion, officials provided over K 3.8 million for purchasing rice and construction materials to victims of riverbank erosion from 27 households in Ahtetpekone village tract and from eight families in Teinkyun village tract in the Township.

Chairman of the Township Administration Body U Swan Htet and members, staff from the Township Disaster Management Department, members of social organizations, village administrators and locals attended the event.—Hein Htet Lin(IPRD)
