An expert discussion on Chi­na-Myanmar cooperation opportunities, organized by China Media Group, was held on 27 July at the Chinese Cul­ture Centre Yangon in Ahlon Township, Yangon Region, according to the centre.

U Khin Maung Soe, a member of the Global Re­search Network Belt and Road Initiative (GRN-BRI), U Khin Maung Zaw, joint secre­tary of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and Internation­al Studies (MISIS), and Dr Naing Swe Oo, the founder and executive director of the ThayNinGa Institute for Stra­tegic Studies, participated in the discussion.

In the discussion, they explored how China’s reforms will create new opportunities for China-Myanmar Belt and Road cooperation, enhance China-Myanmar economic ties, and strengthen the deep friendship between the peo­ple of China and Myanmar, as well as their shared future.

In addition, the third plenary session of the 20^th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has outlined the direction for China’s development and is expected to pave the way for China-Myanmar bilateral de­velopment and cooperation, according to the conversa­tion. — ASH/TH
