A ceremony to mark 79th anniversary of Armed Forces Day, which falls on March 27, was held at the entrance of the road in Hpamon(west) Village in Taunggyi Township of Shan State this morning.
During the ceremony, Shan State Minister for Ministry of Transport U Nay Win Aung delivered an opening speech. After that an official from the Township Department of Rural Development discussed matters relating to the concrete paving work of road and then a community leader spoke words of thanks to officials for opening the concrete road.
Next, the State Minister for Ministry of Transport U Nay Win Aung and members, departmental officials, village administrator and town elders cut a ceremonial ribbon to formally open the concrete road and then looked round the road.
The concrete road which is 900 ft. in length, 12 ft. in width and 7 inches in volume was constructed with K 24.2 million including K 15.0 million of DRD’s funds for this fiscal year and K 9.2 million contributed by local people, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.—Maung Khaing(DRD)
