A new concrete road was inaugurated to mark 77th Anniversary of the Union Day to the public in Kaikye Village in Minhla Township of Magway Region at 10:00 am on February 2.

At the event, Chairman of the Township Administration Body U Than Tun Aung delivered an opening speech. Next, staff officer of the Township Department of Rural Development Daw Thin Thin Aye discussed matters relating to the construction work of the concrete road. Then, community leader U Win Hlaing gave words of thanks to officials.

Afterwards, staff officer of Thayet District DRD U Kyaw San Htay, Chairman of the Township Administration Body U Than Tun Aung, Acting Police Chief of Minhla Police Captain Soe Khaing and officials cut a ceremonial ribbon to formally open the road.

The concrete road measuring 845 ft. in length, 12 ft. in width and six inches in volume was built with K 17.00 million including K 15.00 million allocated by regional government and K 2.00 million contributed by local people, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.—Zar Zar (Ahtet Minhla)
