U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Min­ister and Union Minister for For­eign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, separately received Mr Mutaz Abdullah Ab­duljaleel Mohamed Al Faheem, Ambassador-designate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and Mrs Ponnamperu­ma Arachchige Prabashini Pon­namperuma, Ambassador-desig­nate of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Re­public of the Union of Myanmar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

 

During the call, the Dep­uty Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs con­gratulated the UAE Ambassa­dor for his appointment as the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Unit­ed Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of the Union of Myan­mar. They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the strengthening of the existing bilateral relations between Myan­mar and UAE, mutually beneficial cooperation, including trade and investment sectors, and enhance­ment of collaboration in the re­gional and international arenas.

 

During the meeting with the Sri Lankan Ambassador, the Deputy Prime Minister and Un­ion Minister for Foreign Affairs extended congratulations to the ambassador for the latter’s ap­pointment as Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar. They cor­dially exchanged views on mat­ters pertaining to the further advancement of the existing friendly bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, as well as continued collaboration in rendering consular assistance for Sri Lankan nationals in Myan­mar. — MNA
