Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Than Swe received Mr Daba Debele Hun­de, Ambassador-designate of the Federal Democratic Re­public of Ethiopia to the Re­public of the Union of Myan­mar, with residence in Tokyo, yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs congratulated the Ethiopian Ambassador for his appointment as the Am­bassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethio­pia to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, with residence in Tokyo. Mr Daba Debele Hunde presented a copy of his letter of credence to the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs.

 

They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the strengthening of exist­ing bilateral relations between Myanmar and Ethiopia, mu­tually beneficial cooperation, including trade and investment sectors, and enhancement of collaboration in the regional and international arenas.

 

Deputy Minister for For­eign Affairs U Lwin Oo also re­ceived Mr Daba Debele Hunde, Ambassador-designate of Ethi­opia to Myanmar, separately yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw. — MNA
