Tamwe, 9 February
A fire broke out at the ground floor of apartment-12 on 164th street in Tamwekyi(b) Ward in Tamwe Township of Yangon Region at about 11:35 am on 9 February, inflicting the estimated loss of K 50000. But no casualties were reported in the incident, according to the Township Fire Services Department.
The fire was believed to have started from overheated socket in the apartment. A combined team comprising fire fighters from the Township Fire Services Department rushed to the incident scene to put out the fire using four fire engines and two support vehicles, and the blaze was completely extinguished at about 11:41 am.
The owner of the apartment was charged for fire negligence.—Naing Lin Aung(IPRD)
