Mandalay Region Basic Education officer’s Office and Association for the Elimination of Drug Abuse (AEDA-Mdy) jointly conducted informative talks on scourge of drugs at the B.E.H.S.-26 in Chanmyathazi Township of Mandalay Region yesterday morning.

First, U Myo Myo Lwin, headmaster of Chanmyathazi B.E.H.S.-26 delivered a speech. Next, Daw Khin May Paing from Association for the Elimination of Drug Abuse (AEDA-Mdy) read out the short history of narcotic drugs and U Myint Than from Association for the Elimination of Drug Abuse (AEDA-Mdy) detailed matters in connection with the talks which aim to promote peace and stability and explained types of drugs, the disadvantages of narcotic drugs and offences and penalties for drug cases.

This was followed by the presentation of awards to students who can answer the questions raised by responsible persons.—Aung Zaw Min
