A coordination meeting was convened at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Ag­riculture, Livestock and Irriga­tion yesterday to discuss ensur­ing adequate domestic cooking oil production.

 

The main theme of the meet­ing was to seek cooperation from relevant departments to achieve sufficiency in domestic cooking oil production by processing and producing cooking oil from locally grown oilseeds.

 

Attendees included Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Min Naung, Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, as well as permanent secretaries from rele­vant ministries, directors-general, and experts. Discussions centred on achieving sufficient domestic cooking oil production within their respective sectors.

 

Furthermore, it was noted that collaborative efforts among the relevant departments would continue to focus on increasing domestic cooking oil production and reducing the reliance on oil imports. — MNA/ TRKM
