MoH specialists conduct medical outreach in Kengtung, Shan State

A specialist team from Yangon General Hospital, Specialist Hospital (500-bed), Eye Specialist Hospital and Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Specialist Hospital in collaboration with medics from Kengtung General Hospital performed medical treatments for residents in Shan State on 7 and 8 October.

 

During their two-day visit, the medical team provided treatments to 204 patients with heart diseases, 134 neurological patients, 31 neurosurgical patients, 53 patients with liver diseases, 29 patients with blood diseases, 110 with diabetes and nephrological conditions, 260 orthopaedic patients, 93 with skin disease, 96 gastroenteritis patients, 106 with general conditions, 207 patients with eye disorders, 81 patients with ear, nose and throat conditions, 63 patients with orthopaedic diseases, 15 patients with surgery conditions, 14 child patients, four dental patients and three patients with physiological conditions, totalling 1,503. The specialist team made medical examinations for the patients with the aid of respective diagnosis machines.

 

Apart from patients in Shan State, those from 12 townships of Shan State were also benefitted from the treatment of mobile specialist team.

 

In addition, arrangements were made for the transfer of one patient who needed further treatment for neurologic, two patients for neurosurgery, four patients for heart disease and one orthopaedic patient who needed treatment at Yangon General Hospital and Specialist Hospital (500-bed).

 

The specialist teams have treated three times in Sittway, Rakhine State and similar programmes have already been conducted in Pathein, Taunggyi, Magway, Pyay, Meiktila, Myeik, Mawlamyine, Myitkyina and Hinthada townships. And this initiative will cover other regions and states. — MNA/KZL
