The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win departed for Vientiane, Laos, to attend the 16th ASEAN Health Ministers’ Meeting and related conferenc­es, yesterday.

 

Laos, the current chair of the ASEAN Health Ministers’ Meeting, will host the 16th ASE­AN Health Ministers’ Meeting and associated events. The meetings will take place from 8 to 10 August and include the 16th ASEAN Health Ministers’ Meet­ing, a Business Review Meeting, and an ASEAN Clean Air Region Award Ceremony on 8 August.

 

On 9 August, meetings will continue with the 2nd ASE­AN-Korea Health Ministers’ Meeting, the 10th ASEAN+3 Health Ministers’ Meeting, the 9th ASEAN-China Health Min­isters’ Meeting, and a special ASEAN-American Health Min­isters’ Meeting.

 

Discussions will focus on regional healthcare develop­ment, including the prioriti­zation of ASEAN 2025 health sectors, strengthening global pandemic response capabilities, and the advancement of digital technologies in healthcare. — MNA/KZL
