Myanmar participated in the “Pakistan and ASEAN: A Growing Partnership” round­table discussion held at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) in Islamabad, Pakistan, on 7 August, accord­ing to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the discussion, Myan­mar Ambassador U Wunna Han spoke on the topic “My­anmar’s Active Participation in ASEAN and Its Relations with Pakistan as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner”. The pan­el included Dr Talat Shabbir, Director of the China-Paki­stan Study Centre; ISSI Di­rector-General Ambassador Sohail Mahmood; Dr Usman W Chohan, CASS Economics Director; and Ambassador Mr Khalid Mahmood, Chairman of the Board of Governors of ISSI. The Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Ambassador Mr Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, attend­ed as a special guest. Heads of Pakistani embassies in ASE­AN countries participated and discussed the topic online. — ASH/TH
