Myanmar, Russia discuss media sector cooperation to strengthen bilateral ties

Myanmar and Russia en­gaged in a cordial and open dis­cussion regarding cooperation in the media sector, aiming to foster friendship and cultural exchanges between the two na­tions. The meeting took place at Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) in Yangon.

 

Present at the meeting were MRTV Director-General U Ye Naing, MI Channel Direc­tor Daw Lein Maung Pan, The Global New Light of Myanmar’s General Manager U Win Zaw Htay, Chief Editor U Aungthu Ya, as well as First Deputy Director-General Mr Mikhail Gusman of Russia’s TASS news agency, and his delegation.

 

During the meeting, var­ious topics were discussed, including information ex­change between the two coun­tries, opportunities for mutu­al study visits, the exchange programme for music and art troupes, and preparations for signing a Memorandum of Un­derstanding (MoU) regarding these matters. Additionally, arrangements were made to invite a Myanmar media dele­gation to the 120th anniversary celebration of the TASS news agency, scheduled to take place in September 2024 in Moscow. — MNA/TKO
