At the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation in Nay Pyi Taw, the Admiral, the National Land Utilization Council Chairman, said that the One Map Myanmar Working Committee organized Technical Teams so as to im­plement such processes, and it should accelerate the pilot pro­jects.

Moreover, the relevant de­partments should work together to record the data in one section for land management and draft­ing land use projects.

Then, the Admiral also high­lighted the importance of land resources, enactment of the Na­tional Land Use Policy in Janu­ary 2016 as per Section 37 of the Constitution, organizing the Na­tional Land Utilization Council to implement the stipulations of sub-paragraph (a) of the National Land Use Policy Paragraph-9.

He then mentioned chal­lenges, such as illegal trespass­ing in government land areas, poor communication among ministries and organizations, inharmonious laws, weakness in following laws and procedures, inaccurate land resources and maps, and hardship in managing land practically.

He added that drafting a suitable national land law by ana­lyzing the land management-re­lated laws is the most critical factor in solving such challenges.

The Admiral also called for collaborative efforts in managing land resources systematically to ensure adequate protection for the ecosystem.

Then, Vice-Chairman of the council Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae explained the need to follow nine facts made at the fifth meeting, ten missions of the council, land grabbing and com­pensation under the 1894 Land Acquisition Act without affecting the people and other matters.

Union ministers, depu­ty ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman and officials reported on the progress of tasks undertaken by relevant work committees, drawing the national land utilization law and management measures. — MNA/KTZH
