The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) met with the Working Group of Politi­cal Parties yesterday morning at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Cen­tre in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

Union Minister of Border Affairs NSPNC Chairman Lt- Gen Tun Tun Naung, along with committee members, Dr Aung Myat Oo, leader of the political parties working group, and rep­resentatives from the Union Solidarity and Development Party attended the meeting.

 

Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Dr Aung Myat Oo delivered opening remarks. Lt-Gen Min Naing, Secretary of the NSP­NC, then outlined the agenda for the meeting.

 

The political parties’ work­ing group proposed discussion points and clarified topics raised by the NSPNC. Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein, a member of the NSPNC, announced agree­ments on union peace and development and discussed amendments to the 2008 State Constitution.

 

Both sides negotiated the proposed amendments to the State Constitution. The meet­ing adjourned for the day and will continue on 20 June. — MNA/TS
