More than 100 Myanmar citizens who were arrested and imprisoned in southern parts of Thailand for various reasons have returned to Myanmar.
A total of 110 Myanmar citizens including 86 men and 24 women have returned from Ranong of Thailand to Kawthoung of Myanmar via sea route with the help of officials from both sides.
The returnees were imprisoned for various reasons in 14 Districts in southern parts of Thailand and sent back to Myanmar through Ranong Immigration Detention Centre. More than 100 Myanmar citizens were handed over to Myanmar officials in Kawthoung with the help of an official from Myanmar Labour Attache Office in Thailand.
Upon arrival, the returnees from Thailand are being provided with medical check-ups, processed their personal information and sent back to their respective hometowns by Myanmar authorities, according to official procedures.—Myin Oo(Myeik)
