DURING the Tazaungdine Fes­tival, over 100,000 visitors came to the Taungthaman Bridge and Taungthaman Lake in Mandalay Region, according to Secretary U Soe Win of the Taungthaman Bridge Maintenance Committee.

 

“This year saw even larger crowds compared to previous years. A plain called Taungtha­man Meze has developed into a small resort area, attracting many visitors seeking relaxation. During the festival, daily visitor numbers exceeded 50,000, and on the full moon day of Tazaung­mone, over 100,000 people came,” said U Soe Win.

 

Taungthaman Bridge and Taungthaman Lake are among the most popular tourist attrac­tions in Mandalay Region, draw­ing both local and international travellers. Domestic tourists pri­marily come from cities such as Mandalay, PyinOoLwin, Taung­gyi, and Yangon, while interna­tional visitors mainly include tourists from Thailand, Vietnam, and South Korea. — ASH/TMT
