A combined team, including members of the Drug Enforcement Division, seized narcotics and stimulants worth over K1.14 billion in Pinlaung Township and Pyigyidagun Township, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on information, the team intercepted a Dongfeng vehicle driven by Shaing Bo (aka) Nga Mawk near Leinli Village, Pinlaung Township, at about 4.30 pm on 23 October. The authorities seized 74 kilogrammes of heroin blocks, 9 kilogrammes of Happy Water, 1,000 ecstasy tablets, 11.2 kilogrammes of ketamine, and 114,000 stimulant tablets.

Following the investigation, at about 2.30 pm on 24 October, the team seized a NISSAN twelvewheel truck driven by Zin Phyo Oo (aka) Ko Phyo between 55th and 56th Streets and between 141st and 142nd Streets in Pyigyidagun Township, along with 6.17 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) and 775 grammes of Happy Water.

In total, the seizures included 6.17 kilogrammes of ice (valued at approximately K15.425 million), 74 kilogrammes of heroin blocks (valued at approximately K14.8 million), 9.775 kilogrammes of Happy Water (valued at approximately K63.3 million), 1,000 ecstasy tablets (valued at approximately K4.5 million), 11.2 kilogrammes of ketamine (valued at approximately K11.2 million), and 114,000 stimulant tablets (valued at approximately K5.7 million), with a total value exceeding K1.149 billion.

According to the findings, the owner of the two vehicles, Ye Soe Oo (aka) Ye Naing, who remains at large, transported narcotics and stimulants from Myawady to Hpa-an and Mandalay through Yaza Lin (aka) Maw Si, also still at large, and through Shaing Bo (aka) Nga Mawk. Action has been taken against the offenders under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and efforts continue to expose accomplices in the drug-trafficking network, the Myanmar Police Force said. — MNA/KZL
