THE Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar viewed progress of implementing the projects contributed by the Lancang-Mekong special cooperation fund in Shan State.
On 14 and 15 August, Ms Ma Jia, the Chinese Ambassador, observed buildings in the compound of Wanpong Maritime Police Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Shan State rubber production centre of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in Tachilek of Shan State. These projects are being implemented with the contribution of the Lancang-Mekong special cooperation fund.
The Lancang-Mekong cooperation in Shan State has been achieving higher progress since last decades. The Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar said that although small in scale, well-designed projects have greatly benefited the ordinary people of Myanmar and that the continuous impacts of the Lancang-Mekong projects are affirmed and supported.
China wishes to launch new golden decade together with Myanmar through the strong Lancang-Mekong cooperation by continuously holding up the Lancang-Mekong family concept.
Moreover, the Chinese Ambassador held talks with local authorities of Myanmar and officials from the project to develop the Myanmar’s economy and enhance socioeconomic life of the people. — ASH/TTA
