THE Ambassador of the Peo­ple’s Republic of China to Myanmar viewed progress of implementing the projects con­tributed by the Lancang-Me­kong special cooperation fund in Shan State.

 

On 14 and 15 August, Ms Ma Jia, the Chinese Ambassa­dor, observed buildings in the compound of Wanpong Mar­itime Police Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Shan State rubber pro­duction centre of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in Tachilek of Shan State. These projects are being implemented with the contri­bution of the Lancang-Mekong special cooperation fund.

 

The Lancang-Mekong co­operation in Shan State has been achieving higher pro­gress since last decades. The Chinese Ambassador to Myan­mar said that although small in scale, well-designed projects have greatly benefited the or­dinary people of Myanmar and that the continuous impacts of the Lancang-Mekong projects are affirmed and supported.

 

China wishes to launch new golden decade together with Myanmar through the strong Lancang-Mekong coop­eration by continuously hold­ing up the Lancang-Mekong family concept.

 

Moreover, the Chinese Ambassador held talks with local authorities of Myanmar and officials from the project to develop the Myanmar’s economy and enhance soci­oeconomic life of the people. — ASH/TTA
