SAC Secretary attends Mon State Day exhibition, observes Mon traditional entertainment

LT-GEN Aung Lin Dwe, Secretary of the State Administration Council (SAC), along with other SAC members and Un­ion Ministers, arrived at Mawlamyine Airport yesterday evening to participate in the 50th Anniversary of Mon State Day, which falls on 19 March 2024. They were welcomed by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Mon State government ministers, departmental personnel, and Mon ethnic dancing troupes.

 

The group, led by Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe, visited the Thamainbayan Field in Mawlamyine, where they observed exhibitions showcasing Mon State’s local products, traditional foods, and emblems for the Golden Jubilee Anniversary of Mon State Day.

 

The purpose of these exhibitions is to highlight the programmes of Mon State Development projects, Mon State’s customs and traditions, and to showcase local traditional foods. There are a to­tal of 58 exhibition booths at the event, including 11 for the agricultural sector, 10 for the industrial sector, ten for the service sector, eight for the education sector, eight for the health sector, and 11 for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

 

Additionally, the group led by Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe enjoyed Mon traditional singing, dancing, and playing musical instrument competitions as part of the entertainment provided at the event. — MNA/ TMT
