A ceremony to present commendation certifi­cates from the Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries (VECONAC) was held yesterday at the conference hall of the Myanmar War Veterans Or­ganization’s Central Headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw.

Senior officials, including the chairman and members of the Central Executive Committee of the Myanmar War Veterans Organization, central council members, and recipients of the VECONAC commendation certificates, attended the event. Among the honourees were retired Lt-Gen Khin Zaw Oo, Lt-Gen San Oo, and retired Maj-Gen Zarni Win. Officials and staff from the central headquarters, along with guests, were also present.

The VECONAC commendation certificates recognize individuals from ASEAN member coun­tries who have made significant contributions to their respective veteran organizations. The awards are based on Resolution 23-4 from VE­CONAC’s 23^rd General Assembly.

During the ceremony, retired Lt-Gen Sein Win, Chairman of the Central Executive Commit­tee of the Myanmar War Veterans Organization, delivered a speech. The commendation certifi­cates were then presented, with retired Lt-Gen Khin Zaw Oo offering a vote of thanks on behalf of the recipients. — MNA/KZL
