According to the Mon Ethnic Literature and Culture Associa­tion (Yangon Region), the Mon Ethnic Literature Competition and Mon Traditional Dance Festival will be held in Yangon to commem­orate the 77th Mon National Day.

“Mon National Day, which falls on 16 February, marks the 77th Mon National Day. Plans are underway to hold a lively celebra­tion at the Mon religious hall in Dagon Township, Yangon. The Mon ethnic literature competi­tion will be convened, and Mon cultural dances will be included for younger generations to value and preserve Mon literature and cul­ture,” said a committee member from the Mon Ethnic Literature and Culture Association (Yangon Region).

Competitions in essays, poems, and quizzes will also be organized, and prizes will be awarded at the Mon National Day ceremony. — ASH/TKO
