A total of 6,865 acres of maize were targeted to grow in Yenangyaung Township of Magway Region in this year’s rain crops planting season and as of August 8, over 4,408 acres of maize have been planted, according to the statistics released by the Township Agriculture Department.
Maize is mainly being grown in rainy season as rain crop as well as throughout all seasons with underground water in the Township.
In this year’s rain crops growing season, over 4,408 acres of maize were planted, and as of now, 2,776 acres were harvested with a yield of 15,473 corns per acre, and a total of 4,295,395 corns were produced from 2,776 acres of maize in the Township, according to the statistics of the Township Department of Agriculture.—San Nyunt(Yenangyaung)
