The officials of the Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Commit­tee received the business dele­gation of the Russian Federation at the zone in Yangon yesterday.

 

Chairman of the commit­tee U Yan Naing Tun discussed the sector-wise cooperation between Russia and Myanmar, government efforts in creating business opportunities and investment opportunities and potential investments between the two countries.

 

Then, Development Di­rector Mr Marat Amirovich of RKS-NR CCL under the Rus­sian Ministry of Construction appreciated the welcome and openly discussed G-to-G co­operation projects, bilateral relations and enhancement of investment.

 

Twenty-one countries made investments in Thilawa SEZ, with an investment amount of US$2,124 million.

 

The Thilawa SEZ manages the export and import-substitute manufacturing processes, com­modities, construction materi­als, and vehicles, among others.

 

The Thilawa SEZ Manage­ment Committee also makes efforts to operate import-sub­stitute manufacturing process­es by cooperating with local MSMEs and developing the MSMEs and local job opportuni­ties. — Nyein Thu (MNA)/KTZH
