A ceremony for school enrolment day for the 2024- 2025 academic year was held at No 1 Basic Education High School in Myawaddy, Kayin State this morning in accordance with the slogan "let's send all school-aged children to school”, all parents must send the school-age children to school for having equal learning opportunities for all school-age children.

On the occasion, Chairman of the District Administration Body U Kaung San Linn and members, Chairman of the Township Administration Body U Thet Lwin, the District and Township level officials cut a ceremonial ribbon to formally open the ceremony.

After that the students sang a school song. Afterwards, Chairman of the District Administration Body U Kaung San Linn delivered an opening speech. Then, Patron of the School Supervisory Committee U Myint Oo(former Township Education Officer) explained the purposes of the school enrollment ceremony.

Next, officials provided school textbooks, compass boxes, uniform and stationery provided by the government and 5000 note books and 5000 compass boxes donated by well-wishers, identified as U Saw Tin Win and Daw Nan Myint Myint Win from Shwe Myit Thaung Yin Company) to the students.

There are a total of 79 schools including 68 Basic Education Schools, five monastic schools and six private schools in Myawaddy Township in 2024-2025 Academic year. The country’s national school enrollment week for the 2024-2025 Academic year was started on May 23, and it will last until June 2. – Zar Phyu Win (Myawaddy)
