The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Myanmar’s permanent representative to ASEAN, U Aung Myo Myint, par­ticipated in a meeting on 13 June at the office of the Permanent Mission of the Philippines to ASE­AN in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting involved Deputy Minis­ter for International Economic Relations of the Republic of Chile Ms Claudia Sanhueza and the Committee for Permanent Rep­resentatives to ASEAN (CPR).

 

The event, jointly hosted by the Permanent Mission of the Philippines and the Embassy of Chile in Jakarta, aimed to strengthen relations and promote future cooperation between ASE­AN and the Pacific Alliance. Rep­resentatives from the embassies of Pacific Alliance member coun­tries, including Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, also attended the event.

 

According to the report, Chile currently holds the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Pacific Alliance for 2024, while the Philippines serves as the ASEAN Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Pacific Alliance Re­lations. — ASH/TMT
