The International Conference on Engineering Education Ac­creditation 2024 (ICEEA 2024) was held yesterday afternoon via videoconferencing, focus­ing on continuous improve­ment in engineering education and technology. Union Minister Dr Charlie Than attended from the Ministry of Industry in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

Participants included pa­trons of the Myanmar Engi­neering Council, chairpersons and executive members from the Myanmar Engineering Council, International Engi­neering Alliance (IEA), World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), Fed­eration of Engineering Insti­tutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP), Engineers Australia (EA), Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET), Chi­na Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), and other in­ternational and local engineer­ing professionals.

 

Union Minister Dr Charlie Than highlighted that ICEEA 2024, organized by the Myan­mar Engineering Council’s Quality Verification and Ac­creditation Committee and the World Engineering Feder­ation’s Engineering Education Committee, is themed “Engi­neering Education for Better Engineering Solutions to a Sustainable World”. He empha­sized the value of shared expe­riences with international and local experts in engineering education and accreditation.

 

Prominent individuals and academics discussed various topics, with contributions from WFEO, IEA, IEET, EA, BEM, TH Georg Agricola Univer­sity, South Asian University, GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, and the University of Technology (Yangon). The conference in­cludes question and answer sessions and will continue for two days. — MNA/TS
