Schools that are temporarily shut down due to floodwaters from Dakar Creek are reopened on 21 August in Kyonpyaw Township of Ayeyarwady Region as floodwaters recede.
To ensure the safety of teachers and students, a total of 22 schools in the Township have been temporarily closed due to the floodwaters since July 29 and now, all schools are reopened on August 21 as floodwaters decrease. Students are attending their classes starting from the morning of August 21.
Students from the closed schools will be compensated for the missed lessons and will be given additional times to study their lessons every Sunday.—Township IPRD
