CHAIRMAN of the State Admin­istration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, along with the entourage and of­ficials yesterday morning, paid homage to the Sacred Buddha’s Tooth Relic Pagoda (Mandalay) built on the Maha Dhammayan­thi Hill near Shatawlay village Amarapura Township, Mandalay District, Mandalay Region.

 

Members of the board of trustees welcomed the Senior General, his wife and officials. He then paid homage to the pa­goda and offered flowers, water, and candles. The Senior General and his wife also provided cash donations for overall renovation, which the members of the board of trustees accepted.

 

Afterwards, the Senior Gen­eral, his wife, and officials paid homage to the Buddha’s upper left canine tooth relic, which was enshrined in the pagoda.

 

Consequently, the Senior General circled the pagoda in a clockwise direction, inspected the conditions of long-term and robust maintenance and gave instructions to ensure that the pagoda is always magnificent and what multi-renovations to be done to improve comprehen­sively.

 

Next, the Senior General, his wife and officials paid respect to State Ovacariya Abhidhaja Maha­ratthaguru Abhidhaja Aggamaha Saddhammajotika Aggamahap­andita Bhaddanta Vicarinda Bhi­vamsa, the Presiding Patron of the Mahavijitayon Monastery in Mandalay and enquired about the monk’s health conditions, and instructed officials to fulfil the requirements of treatments.

 

The Senior General and his wife donated edible bird’s nests, nutritious food and cash donations to the revered monk. — MNA/TS
