Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe attended the award ceremony for the 2024 Union Minister’s Cup National (Open) Football Tournament yesterday at No 6 Basic Education High School, Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday. The event featured competitive matches between teams from various departments and universities.
Earlier in the day, the Union minister met Russian Ambassador Mr Iskander Azizov to discuss potential cooperation, including establishing a herbal medicine factory and signing a Memorandum of Cooperation for economic and technological collaboration. They also discussed enhancing bilateral relations and projects like growing Russian oilseed crops.
In the evening, the Union minister supported the ongoing football matches, where the Department of Rural Development secured third place, and the University of Cooperatives and Management (Sagaing) claimed the championship trophy. Awards were presented for best forward, midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper, with the top teams receiving trophies, cash prizes, and medals. — MNA/KZL
