The Ministry of Information plans to hold a colour photo competition titled ‘Beautiful Myanmar’ to commemorate the 77th Independence Day, which will be observed on 4 January 2025.

Anyone can participate in the competition by submitting photos that portray national development, beauty, peace and stability, national race unity, and traditional cultures, as well as symbols, places, and individuals prominent in the struggle for independence.

In the competition, only colour photos taken in Myanmar will be accepted, regardless of the type of camera used, with each photo required to be 10 inches by 15 inches in size. Contestants may submit an unlimited number of pictures in hard copy, along with their soft copies on CD.

Digitally processed photos, those that have won awards in local or international photo competitions, printed photographs, and pictures previously used on websites will not be allowed to compete. Photos entered in the contest must include consent for use in public exhibitions, books, publications, websites, pamphlets, lectures, and videos.

For each photo submitted for the competition, a separate piece of paper attached to the back must include the contestant’s name, Citizenship Scrutiny Card (CSC)number, address, phone number, the subject of the photograph, and the location where it was taken. Photos must be submitted to the Information and Public Relations Department in Kyauktada Township by 4:00 pm on 31 October. — TWA/THa
