The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MoALI) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) discussed agricultural cooperation projects for those farmers living in conflict areas on 27 August at the meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw.

The discussions highlighted projects which the Department of Planning, the Agriculture Department, the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department (LBVD) and ICRC will sign for those residents from conflict areas to enhance agricultural and livestock production, services and agricultural equipment,

The projects will primarily focus on farm infrastructure to handle and process seeds and provide agricultural inputs in cooperation with the Agriculture Department.

Additionally, opening community-based animal health workers courses and providing necessary assistance to optimize livestock production in collaboration with the LBVD are included as well.

These projects also aim to make agriculture and livestock businesses more sustainable with climate-resilient practices and encourage community self-help projects.
