The final match of the Township Education officer’s cup U-18 men’s inter-school football tournament took place in conjunction with prize awarding event at the new football ground in the town of Dedaye, Ayeyarwady Region yesterday.

Pyapon District Education officer U Win Aung, members of the Township Administration Body, departmental officials, invited guests, athletes from participating teams and students attended the event.

In the final game, the squad representing Thandithegonlay sub-B.E.H.S. beat the team representing No. 2 B.E.H.S. and was crowned the champion trophy.

At the award-giving ceremony, officials presented prizes to the best football players throughout the tournament, the fourth, the third, the second and the first prizes winning teams respectively.

U-18 men’s inter-school football tournament was starting from August 11 to September 1, 2024 at the new football ground, with 14 teams from 14 Basic Education High Schools in the township, according to an official from the Township Education Officer’s office.—A Zar Lin
