CHAIRMAN of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Sen­ior General Min Aung Hlaing watched the final event of the Inter-Ministerial University Football Tournament 2024 at Wunna Theikdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday after­noon and awarded the cham­pion team.

 

In the final match, foot­ball teams representing the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Border Affairs put pressure on each other to con­trol the game, and both teams were able to reach the final match. Both teams could not break the deadlock of results till the end of the first half. In the 68th minute, the Ministry of Border Affairs’ team scored a single winning goal and led the match till the final whistle, claiming the champion of the tournament 2024.

 

After the final match, the Senior General presented a cash award and a championship trophy to the first prize-winning football team of the Ministry of Border Affairs.

 

 

Union ministers Dr Nyunt Pe and U Ko Ko Hlaing and SAC members U Yan Kyaw, U Shwe Kyein, Khun San Lwin, and Dr Ba Shwe presented best player awards in relevant plac­es, the top scorer and the best player of the tournament to the winners, individual medals and cash awards to respective win­ners.

 

SAC members Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, and Dr Hmuh Thang gave individual medals and cash awards to players from the fourth, third, and second prize-winning teams representing the Min­istry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation and the Ministry of Science and Technology re­spectively.

 

SAC Joint Secretary Gen­eral Ye Win Oo handed indi­vidual medals to players from the Champion football team representing the Ministry of Border Affairs.

 

After the awarding cere­mony, the Senior General cor­dially greeted the players.

 

The final match was also attended by Union-level dig­nitaries, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the com­mander of Nay Pyi Taw Com­mand, deputy ministers and officials, and spectators.

 

A total of seven university football teams representing the Ministry of Border Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Min­istry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Tech­nology, and the Ministry of Health participated in the foot­ball tournament which lasted from 31 August to 9 September. — MNA/TTA
