The Ministry of Home Affairs announced that the graduation ceremony for the Fire Department’s Road Traffic Accident-Vehicle Extrication Training took place yesterday morning in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw. The event was attended by SAC Member Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, who delivered the speech.

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, council members, the chief of police, permanent secretary, directors-general, officers, and trainees from the Fire Department were also present. The ceremony featured rescue team skill competitions based on various types of traffic accidents occurring across Myanmar. Lt-Gen Yar Pyae awarded the winning teams and trainees.

The course, held from 2 to 18 September at Zabuthiri Township Fire Station, included 52 trainees from the Myanmar Fire Brigade Headquarters, Central Fire Academy, townships within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, and fire stations along the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway. The training has enhanced the fire brigade’s search and rescue capabilities, enabling quicker and more effective responses to traffic accidents, thereby reducing injuries and fatalities. — MNA/TS
