In commemoration of the International Day for Older Persons, which falls on October 1, officials presented cash assistance, provided by Ayeyarwady Region government, to Daw Thein Kyi aged 106 who lives in Hngapyawchaung Village in Bogale Township, Pyapon District of Ayeyarwady Region and senior citizens who live at Elderly Chanmyet Nursing Home this morning.

Under this cash assistance program, Daw Thein Kyi aged 106 years old received K 100000, Elderly Chanmyet Nursing Home received K 500000, 26 senior citizens who live in Elderly Chanmyet Nursing Home received K 20000 each and U Nyo aged 105 who lives in Ywathit Ywama Village in Bogale Township received K 100000 respectively.

In addition, officials including Chairman of the Township Administration Body and the Township Administrator U Kan Win and members, officials from Department of Social Welfare, members of the Township Women’s Affairs Federation and members of the Township Maternal and Child Welfare Association also provided senior citizens with nutritious food and medicines.—Moset( Bogale)
