The final day of the Thadingyut Festival expo and concert was bustling with youth activities yesterday morning at the People’s Square in Yangon. Shoppers thronged the market while young attendees gathered to enjoy the festive concert.
The expo featured a wide variety of goods, including electronic items, solar panels, clothing, household products, food, and MSME products. There were 48 MSME stalls, 26 from the Small-Scale Industries Department, 15 from the Cooperative Department, and 15 from the relevant Investment and Company Administration, among others. Local products from various regions and literature stalls also attracted many customers.
Vendors reported successful sales, with some earning between K500,000 and K1 million daily and a few exceeding K1.5 million.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and other ministers toured the market, supporting the vendors and purchasing goods. They also inspected the preparation of Satuditha (charity) meals for the public, ensuring food hygiene and proper organization. Satuditha meals and cold drinks were served three times daily during the festival.
The concert, featuring renowned singers and DJs, began at 9 am with large crowds of youths joining in, dancing, and singing along in celebration.
The festival market operated from 7 am to 7 pm, while the concert and DJ performances ran from 10 am to 9 pm. The night concluded with a fireworks display and the ascending of sky lanterns, providing a joyful end to the event.
