THE opening ceremonies for the People’s Military Service Training Course No 6 were held at various military commands yesterday. Citizens who met the necessary qualifications attended training depots in their respective regions to participate in this course.

The ceremonies were attended by the chairperson of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, chief ministers from various regions and states, commanders of the respective commands, and other officials. Trainees were presented with cash awards and essential items for recruits and offered encouragement and support.

The People’s Military Service Law, which was enacted on 10 February 2024, established these military training courses to support our three main national causes: Non-disintegration of the Union, Non-disintegration of national solidarity, and Perpetuation of sovereignty. The first intake commenced on 8 April 2024, and the sixth intake is now underway. Those who have completed the People’s Military Training are currently serving in various military units, fulfilling their responsibilities for national defence and security. — MNA/TMT
