A total of 4,408 acres of maize were harvested in Yenangyaung Township of Magway Region in this year’s rain crops planting season, according the Township Department of Agriculture.
In this year’s rain crops planting season, 6,155 acres of maize have been planted and as of now, 4,408 acres of maize were harvested with a yield of 15,277 corns per acre, yielding a total of 67339225 corns, according to the statistics released by the Township Agriculture Department.
71337 acres of maize are being planted all year round in the Township. Farmers in the Township are selling corn as a seasonal food as well as selling corn kernels to the market and corn husks to tobacconists.—San Nyunt(Yenangyaung)
