The Tazaungdine Festival in Bago Region will feature illuminated displays and hot-air balloon launches, promising a lively atmosphere. According to U Tin Oo, Economic Minister of the Bago Region government, plans include releasing 15 large balloons by day, ten by night, and 1,500 smaller balloons throughout the festival.
The celebration will take place at Shwemawdaw Pagoda, with hot-air balloon launches and charity feasts arranged at the western entrance parking area. Highlights include a Matho Thingan robe weaving competition and other entertainment activities.
An exhibition of local MSME products from 28 townships across six districts in Bago Region will be part of the festivities, with 70 booths showcasing these goods. Additionally, Satuditha (charity food) will be served to over 1,000 visitors. Running from 14 to 17 November, the festival will feature decorative lighting throughout the pagoda precinct and at nearby sites, including Bayintnaung Square, Shin Saw Pu Park, Clock Tower Park, and Yankintha Park. — ASH/ MKKS
